24th October

The wildest of weather, including virtually day-long rain, put paid to most meaningful birding today. Intrepid searches amongst some shelter found 2 Firecrests at Pennsylvania Castle/Perryfields, whilst 710 Brent Geese and 41 Turnstones at Ferrybridge, and 2 Great Northern Divers off Hamm Beach were found from relative shelter further north. Extremely little seemed to be moving at sea, with singles of Great Northern Diver, Manx Shearwater, Fulmar, Great Skua and Arctic Skua the best of it off the Bill.
