23rd October

The aftermath of Storm Austen was a day of blasting northwesterlies - no good to man nor bird. The Snow Bunting and 2 Black Redstarts remained on East Cliffs at the Bill and 3 Snipe were oddities amongst a limited passage of routine finches and the like overhead, but the only sightings of note on the sea were 2 Manx Shearwaters through off the Bill. Elsewhere, 3 Pale-bellied Brent Geese were at Ferrybridge.
