Asides from the wind veering slightly more to the north and some light showers during the early part of the morning, there was very little detectable change at the Bill, with a
Merlin the only sighting of note among a fairly meagre spread of the current winterers/long-stayers. The same could be said of Ferrybridge, where variety remained limited to just 2
Pale-bellied Brent Geese, 2
Grey Plovers and a single
Knot. The situation was slightly improved in the harbour, with the first
Black-throated Diver and
Slavonian Grebe of the winter plus 2
Great Northern Divers as viewed from Sandsfoot Castle.
Today's Merlin was particularly obliging as it dropped into the obs garden before settling itself along the patio wall © Jodie Henderson
