1st July

A short, sharp eastbound movement of c1000 Manx Shearwaters in the couple of hours after dawn was a surprise on another balmy day; 7 Balearic Shearwaters were amongst them, with 31 Common Scoter also on the move. The odd departing Sand Martins and Swallows, along with an overflying Redshank, provided the only migrant interest at the Bill.

Lots of nice migrant/dispersal activity evident amongst a big overnight moth catch at the Obs, with a Light Crimson Underwing the best of the quality
