12th June

A change in the weather produced some much needed rain - our bird-friendly crops in the Crown Estate Field and elsewhere were beginning to look pretty parched - but also jazzed up just a little the quality of the seawatching, with 2 Great Skuas, 2 Black-headed Gulls, a Pomarine Skua and a trickle of Manx Shearwaters passing by off the Bill. On the land the Great Spotted Cuckoo lingered on, a Blackcap - yet another seemingly failed breeder - showed up at the Obs and a Spotted Flycatcher was at Easton.
