An overcast and surprisingly cool morning came up with a small flurry of new arrivals to add some variety to the day-list that continued to be headed by the Great Spotted Cuckoo. The majority of reports came from the Bill area where 2 Common Cuckoos were again lingering and 3 Spotted Flycatchers and singles of Great Spotted Woodpecker, Tree Pipit, Yellow Wagtail, Reed Warbler, Blackcap and Willow Warbler were all new in. Elsewhere, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits and a Whimbrel at Ferrybridge were a tad unseasonable and at least 15 Sandwich Terns were still about there and in Portland Harbour. A lone Arctic Skua through off the Bill was the only seawatch report of note.
Even though their numbers dropped significantly, Diamond-back Moths again made up almost the entirety of the overnight immigrant moth catch, with totals that included 287 at the Obs, 132 at Sweethill, 58 at Reap Lane and 52 at the Grove.
