A reminder that there's an In Focus field event at the Obs between 10am and 4pm tomorrow, Saturday 2nd January.

Déjà vu on the weather front with a keen south-easterly through the morning the precursor of another blowy and wet afternoon. Pretty well all the action was on the sea, with 11 Red-throated Divers, 4 Velvet Scoter, 3 Common Scoter, 2 Brent Geese and an Eider through off the Bill, 5 Little Gulls lingering in Chesil Cove and 3 Black-necked Grebes, 2 Black-throated Divers and 2 Great Northern Divers in Portland Harbour. The only other reports were of a Grey Heron at Southwell and a Black Redstart at Blacknor.

A single Dark Sword Grass at the Grove was the only immigrant moth caught overnight.
