3rd September

In the face of unrelenting brisk westerlies migration's really ground to a halt on all fronts. The lingering Wryneck in the Obs Quarry continued to provide the occasional glimpse but Wheatear was the only common migrant managing a double figure total either on the ground or overhead at the Bill. Waders were more numerous at Ferrybridge but numbers and variety there have hardly changed all week. Three Arctic Skuas and 2 Balearic Shearwaters provided the only interest on the sea at the Bill.
