Another wild overnight blow drove quantities of seabirds close to shore and another all-day seawatch was in order. Although the fiercest of the onshore wind had subsided a little by daybreak it remained well above gale force throughout the daylight hours and there were birds on the move until dusk, with a likely conservative estimate of 4000 Kittiwakes through; other combined day-totals from Ferrybridge, Chesil Cove and the Bill included minima of 14 Leach's Petrels, 11 Little Gulls, 4 Arctic Skuas and singles of Manx Shearwater, Grey Phalarope, Great Skua, Pomarine Skua and Sabine's Gull. Precious little other birding was undertaken but the 2 Goosanders and single Great Northern Diver remained at Ferrybridge.
