It had always seemed unlikely that last December's
Hume's Warbler would have moved on but having been repeatedly looked for at Avalanche Road hopes of a reappearance had certainly faded; however, glimpses of a yellow-browed warbler at the end of Thumb Lane (the former Weston Craft Centre area) this afternoon were followed up and duly revealed the missing Hume's - although often vocal it was extremely creepy and mobile in the dense buddleia scrub between there and Coombefield Quarry. The day's other reports consisted of little more than 12
Red-throated Divers and 3
Common Scoter through off the Bill.
