4th October

All change on the weather front but no change on the bird front. The morning was pretty much of a wash-out but much nicer conditions during the afternoon allowed for plenty of coverage that revealed the Rose-coloured Starling was still about at Reap Lane but new arrivals didn't get any better than 2 Firecrests at the Obs and a Turtle Dove at Southwell. Seawatching during the rain came up with 2 Little Egrets, a Manx Shearwater and a Great Skua through off the Bill.

Clouded Yellows were still about in some quantity but overnight mothing came up with nothing better than 2 Delicate and a Gem at the Obs; after dark a Convolvulus Hawk-moth was seen visiting Nicotiana flowers at the Grove.
