An unexpectedly really pleasant day tempted a fair few folk out into the field but there was little change in the quality of the birding. Good looks at Portland Harbour came up with reports of an increase in
Goosanders to at least 20, along with more customary fare including 10
Black-necked Grebes and 3
Great Northern Divers. At least 1
Firecrest and the
Grey Heron remained at the Bill, 3
Chiffchaffs and a
Goldcrest were at Southwell and the
Black Redstart was again at Blacknor. Sea reports included 7
Red-throated Divers, 2
Red-breasted Mergansers and a
Brent Goose through off the Bill.
