All rather uneventful today with a
Short-eared Owl over New Ground easily the highlight. Meaningful birding was curtailed by thick fog that rolled in towards midday but there'd been ample time beforehand to establish that the day's arrivals on the ground at the Bill consisted of little more than the thinnest spread of
Chiffchaffs; a handful of
Meadow Pipits and
alba wagtails also arrived in/off there but the only other reports were of a few of the regulation winterers. Elsewhere, a
Black Redstart at High Angle Battery may or may not have been new in. Sea passage off the Bill didn't amount to more than 17
Common Scoter and 3
Red-throated Divers.
The first Hummingbird Hawkmoth of the year was on the wing at the Grove.
