A buffetingly windy day that saw most attention given to the sea.
Kittiwakes trickled through all day, with 200 through off the Bill during a sample couple of hours during the morning; 8 more
Arctic Skuas also passed by there along with 9
Manx Shearwaters and a
Balearic Shearwater, whilst a
Little Gull lingered offshore and at least 4
Yellow-legged Gulls were ashore - 3 at the Bill and a single at Ferrybridge. Passerine and wader numbers were nothing special, with 40
Wheatears making up the bulk of the numbers at the Bill and singles of
Sanderling and
Common Sandpiper the best amongst 150
Ringed Plovers and 60
Dunlin at Ferrybridge/Hamm Beach.
Three
Bluefin Tuna off the Bill during the morning were the first seen there so far this autumn.
