phylloscs responded by dropping in slightly improved numbers, with both species getting to around 50 in the Bill area; the first
Redstart of the spring also showed up there but nothing else was grounded in quantity and, despite the largely crystal clear skies, visible passage was a complete non-event. The breeze had shifted back to the northeast which limited sea passage to just 40
Common Scoter, 17
Black-headed Gulls, 2
Red-throated Divers and a
Black-throated Diver through off the Bill. At least one of the
Short-eared Owls was still about there and the
Hume's Warbler was also still at Thumb Lane.
