Moderate winds this morning put pay to any thoughts of ringing. A few Willow Warblers were heard calling from the garden. Our only other report was of 6 Wheatears along the East Cliffs.
Low numbers of both Manx and Balearic Shearwaters were reported from the sea. A single Whimbrel and 15 Common Scoter were also reported.
Early news from Ferrybridge included 70 Ringed Plover, 50 Dunlin, 3 Sanderling, 1 Turnstone, 1 Common Gull and possibly one of the last remaining Little Terns of the season. With regards to Little Terns for the last few years the last sighting date has been the 13th August, will this bird be our last of the year ?

With the warden back tomorrow this will be my last post, thank the lord I hear you all shout !
I have really enjoyed doing it and it makes me more appreciative of the effort and variety that the warden puts into each and every day. Many thanks for reading and for the (mostly) nice comments.
If your passing Culverwell and you see a battered old Ford, stop and say hi, Mark C.
