A stunning, clear day with a strong breeze to keep the temperature down to a bearable level made for excellent walking conditions even if there were very few birds to halt the procession at any point. On a more positive note there was some improvement on the sea with both
Pomarine and
Arctic Skuas, two
Balearic Shearwaters, a
Curlew and a good passage of 34
Mediterranean Gulls. Ferrybridge was also showing the signs of returning breeders with a further 24
Mediterranean Gulls, a
Whimbrel and six
Shelduck.
